HydraFacial is not only highly effective at improving overall skin health, but also excellent for remedying:
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Elasticity & Firmness
Skin Tone Evenness & Vibrancy
Advanced Signs of Aging
A chemical peel is an aesthetic procedure to achieve better skin tone and remove fine lines, especially on the face. The chemical solution removes outer layers of skin damaged by age, sun, acne, wrinkles, or pigmentation problems. Removing the outer skin prompts the body to generate a new layer of skin cells. Chemical peels may not be appropriate for darker skin complexions.
Benefits of a chemical peel:
Reduce facial wrinkles and lines
Improve sun-damaged skin
Correct age spots and pigmentation problems
Lighten scars (especially from acne)
At the time of your procedure any active skin disease, infection, or acne needs to be under control in order to maximize results. There are several different types of chemical solutions ranging from mild to very strong. The aesthetician will select what is best for the patient based on skin condition, color, and desired result.
During the procedure the aesthetician cleans the skin of oils then carefully applies a solution to remove the layers of damaged skin. The skin will turn white and is now neutralized and cleansed.
What should I do after a peel?
You need to limit sun exposure and wear sunscreen because your skin is more sensitive for about 1 week. Avoid strenuous activity for about 2-3 days. Avoid harsh scrubbing of the skin. If your skin is peeling, do not “help” the skin to peel – you can use a moisturizer to help with flaking. Resume Retin A after 1 week if you are using it.
Microneedling tightens the skin as well as removes the dead skin cells by creating micro-channels in the skin to allow serums and products to penetrate deeper during treatment. This treatment makes it possible to reach the damaged cells in the dermal layer in order to repair the damaged cells through Percutaneous Collagen Induction Therapy (PCIT). PCIT tricks the skin into thinking it needs to repair itself, allowing for direct blood flow to that area that then rebuilds the fiber blasts and remodels the collagen.
How does it work?
Microneedling creates a series of predictable, controlled epidermal and dermal micro-injuries, thereby stimulating the body’s immune response to produce new collagen and elastin. Microneedling is used in combination with Hyaluronic Acid peptides gel and other peptide gels to hydrate and re-epithelialize the skin. It is also used extensively to infuse anti-redness, lightening agents and anti-acne serums to the needed depth. The device is battery operated, allowing for freedom of movement without interference from an attached power cord.
What can I expect during and after treatment?
Topical numbing cream is applied before your treatment. There is minimal to any discomfort during the treatment. Clients may notice redness that can last from 24-48 hours, although many clients have minimal discoloration as soon as 30 minutes after the treatment. Improvement is seen after one treatment, but a series of 3-6 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart is recommended.
